movies, shoes, friends....perfect day? pretty close.

Can we all please ponder for a moment on the fact that my mom is 

SO COOL.

pictured below is a small reason for this cool factor.

here's the reasoning for her coolness [in this case]

1. she buys me shoes.

2. she's got great taste

3. not just "mom" great taste...bold, wonderful, any-age type of great taste.

[let us all ignore that some of her great taste has obviously surpassed me as I am wearing a bleach-stained sweatshirt, black jeans, and blue flip flops....]

Second, last night we went to see Thor. 

Well, let me preface this.

In the afternoon I got a text message that said something about hot, shirtless, Australian men from another planet at 9:40pm. I don't know about you, but it somehow caught my attention ;)

I just had to attend.

And honestly, I thought it was great! Entertaining, and I didn't always know what was coming... especially the end, which I was semi-peeved about... but we'll save that for later. Gotta love sequels. Natalie Portman is darling and Chris Hemsworth... don't get me started. I'm no fan of long hair or the whole mountain-man facial hair thing.... but I was just fine to watch him for an hour and a half on the big screen. Just fine. But back to the movie critique up there, just a disclaimer, I'm pretty easy to please. As long as a movie is entertaining and not sleazy, I'm a happy camper.

So take my raving reviews with a grain of salt if you will.

So moral of the story [or of all the stories]:

I just may have a celebrity crush.

I love shoes... but that's not really any revelation

& apparently I love ellipses...

Things:

1. I went to get mountain dew with my roommate at 11pm. [sue me] need some creepy men in your life? stop by the 7-11 around this time of night. winners, for real.
2. Turned in a quiz due at midnight... at 11:55. still failed. accounting, why do you hate me so? never fear,  our relationship will expire in about a week.
3. Had my awesome TA help correct my paper... what an angel, she just boosted my grade 20%.
4. Wrote some more marriage insights for another paper.
5. Got asked on a date... when I already had one. shoot. why does that happen during finals? or maybe it's the fact they all got reprimanded this weekend. either way. come on children.
6. went on top of the SWKT. sweet view of all of Provo? nobody gets to go up there? yes and yes.
7. skipped my first class? yep. don't you worry, today marks my limit of absences before my grade is affected. free absence? that happened.
8. Learned some Paso Doble. Where the boys are supposed to be like bullfighters. welcome to my life.
9. Have I caught myself saying "good gracious" approximately 10 times today? Affirmative. Why? Literally no idea. Whatsoever.
10. Watched La Misma Luna. Was also informed by the man at blockbuster that people in America call it Under the Same Moon. Ok, it's in spanish... so if you don't know what "La Misma Luna" means, you probably aren't going to catch much. or watch it for that matter.
11. It's 12:30 and I still have three assignments to do. love school. love love love love.

Penelope and life decisions

1. it's snowing today.

2. i have to be dressed up for a meeting....

3. i have to walk home. did I mention it's snowing?

4. it's very nearly April.  whaaaaat?

5. my mom reminded me i haven't had a blog post in a while... my bad.

 So yesterday was somewhat of a miracle. 

I was in what my roommate calls "Quarter-life crisis"

Which is like mid-life... only quarter! Is that normal?

But anyways I was trying to decide what I want to do with my life. 

Because I had chosen a direction... and let's face it.

It wasn't working out for me. 

I had a panic when I realized I was going to spend my education

kicking against the pricks and doing something that I was bad at, and didn't love.

Then a professor spoke these words of wisdom....

"you that don't know your major... you are the lucky ones"

[whaaaat? who ever said that in the classroom before?]
