dance your HEART out. or your neck off...

This. weekend was. awesome.

We threw a dance party and....oh my.
It rocked our world, if we do say so ourselves.

Of course the day started with the baking of all kinds of valentine's-esque treats.
Red velvet cookies
sugar cookies
brownies
hand dipped pretzels
and pink rice krispy treats

yeah, the food was gooood.

So was the dancing.
We all have whiplash from dancing so hard.
My neck still hurts and it's Monday morning.
But the best news?
Aaron votes me best dancer.
Yeah. Not sure it's true but I feel great about it.
Some people say they grow out of dancing...
I'm pretty sure we never will.
Great end to a great weekend.

Love Always,

Summer Adventure: the Lindsay finale.

So then, all of a sudden, it was our last night together.
We went to dinner and saw Captain America with my family [both equally awesome]
And proceeded to wear our 3D glasses with the lenses popped out all night.
We stopped by for a late night grocery run at Walmart
...and if you thought the glasses were immature, you should have seen our behavior...
It was bad. We may have embarrassed my family half to death.
But when you're laughing to the point you can hardly breath, there just can't be much wrong with that.
When we got home we decided we just couldn't go to bed just yet.
So, naturally, we made cookies.
Because, well, we love baking.
And also, that boy at church on Sunday just can't be upset at you if you give him cookies.
So we made my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.
and stuffed whatever we felt like in each cookie.
So they were individual surprises!
also, note the odd manner in which we placed them on the tray.
it literally makes a difference, they will be way thicker!

So that was that.
And faster than we knew it, our time together was over.
For now at least.
I sure do love you Lindsay Rae!

[oh, and coming up next: my trip to the fabulous Manhattan New York!]
[stay tuned. you'll learn all about why I have some major dietary repentance to do. mmmm]

the "fun" ones

When you grow up in a church community, you get invited to everybody's bridal shower.
(and birthday party, and wedding reception, and baby shower too for that matter)
Because of this, I've been to my share... and more as I get older.
And many of them (think back on the church community feel), have been attended with my mother.
My mom is always the fun one. Always has been, always will be.
She's the fun sister, the fun mom, the fun aunt.. just trust me she's always down to party.
So when it comes to bridal showers she (naturally) always is the fun gift giver.
(...because what fun is a bridal shower if the bride doesn't blush as deep as the little pink gift bag she's delving into....right?)
So, mom, I am proud to say... I have become the fun gift giver.
On that subject, Saturday night we hosted a bridal shower!

For the future Mrs. Morgan Frei

And to make it more fun, the cute bride is gluten free,
so we had a little challenge on our hands :)
But who doesn't LOVE a challenge?
when you're in college, you just make it happen!
so we made the cake in a pie pan.
went swimmingly if I do say so myself.
Chex mix (always a hit) courtesy of Mama Veater.
Caramel Corn from Our Best Bites.
[double on the caramel please!]
 Gift Tables with lace
 Macaroons from Lindsay Rae.
And gluten free Betty Crocker cake mix
[With Miss Lizzy's white chocolate cream cheese frosting...divine!]

Oh, and.....
[Remember the blushing and pink bag I mentioned earlier?]
Nailed it.

Other fun things this weekend?
making pizza.... an "earth" pizza
fitting for the rapture, no?
kickball (and battle wounds to prove it)
mini golf.
classic chick flicks.

The grass is green on my side of the fence.

I loved this weekend.I got to hang out with the absolute best sorts of people.
and stayed up talking about life until unreasonable hours of the morning.
I danced in BYU dancesport, and got to the top 6 couples for samba.
[There was about 120 couples... we even got a sweet ribbon!]
I watched an awesome basketball game. [goooo Jimmer!]
& Made a fabulous apple pie.
